Milestone: more than 100 paying customers

By Stef Gallé - Co-founder Smart.pr

This week we passed the barrier of 100 paying customers. This means that more than 100 companies are using Smart.pr to send out their press releases and publish their news. Our customer base currently consists of companies ranging from large corporates, NGOs and governmental institutions to cultural initiatives, PR agencies and freelancers.

We have gathered these customers mostly by direct sales. This means calling them, telling what the product is about and if they are interested visiting them, giving them a live demonstration, listing to their needs and then most of the time signing them. The reason we took this approach the last couple of years is that it allows us to get very close to our actual users. We have built relationships with our customers, which are extremely valuable in our product development process.

We are currently working on the next step. After completely rebuilding our application to prepare for quick growth, we are now working on an online sales channel. We want people from around the globe to be able to register directly online, buy credits and get started building press campaigns with Smart.pr. We will be on the side, striving to provide great customer support. Exciting times ahead, we’ll keep you posted!

Well good for you. Fact is, you have gathered these customers partly due to your product but mostly because you bash the competion (which is always a dumb thing to do) and tell lies. Judging from your Smart PR Facebook, you lack one big thing: professionalism. Bragging how you signed a southern company and then with a “funny” comment that you can now talk normal again, shows that you even disrespect your own (new!) customers. You might have created a nice product but your comments show how childish you actually are. Shame.
